Adding the LAUNCH IN 3D button to save changes to your webspace

To make the objects that you have added appear next time you visit your webspace you need to add the Launch in 3D button to your 2D page.

To add the button to your webpage:
  1. You must be able to edit it (or at least part of it), and
  2. It must accept basic HTML code. (Some blogs and forums do not allow this).

Why is adding a button necessary?
Adding a Launch in 3D button to your webspace is required so that when you or a visitor visits your webspace the new objects will be there as well.  The Launch in 3D button tells our server which set of objects to display with the page. You can think of this like providing a reciept at the dry cleaners when you want to retrive your suit.  If the button isn't on the page, then when the page's webspace is visited the objects will not appear.  The good news is that it is quite easy to do.

Steps to add a button
If it's a well known site, like iGoogle or MySpace, you can use the automated process.  Simply provide your login details in the Embed section and we'll take care of the rest.
Otherwise:
  1. Select the style of button that you prefer,
  2. Copy the code,
  3. Login to your webpage service, or open the your html file, to edit,
  4. Paste the code into your webpage where you want the button to appear and save. (If you usually FTP your page to your webserver then do this also.)

When viewing your page, you can now simply click the Launch in 3D button to visit the page in 3D and see the objects you added.

You only need to add the button once, so if you've already added it, you're right to go.

Adding a decorations to a vrml file
To make your objects load in a .wrl file (or VRML world) you must add a small piece of VRML code to your .wrl file.

To do this you must have access to the wrl file.

  1. Copy the Inline code provided in the save page,
  2. Open your .wrl file in a VRML or text editor, and paste the code into the file,
  3. Save and upload to the internet.

Your saved objects will now appear within the file when viewed with ExitReality.
